1. SFP optical module data structure description
The SFP optical module is a universal photoelectric conversionmodule. In order to have universal applicability and be compatible with more host devices, it has been standardized in terms of structure, hardware, and software. The unified standard for software is SFF-8472, which provides a detailed definition of the data structure of A0h and A2h. The host can access data through a two wire interface. As shown in Figure 1:

2. A0h Data Structure Description
The 256 bytes of A0h mainly contain some identification information of the optical module, such as basic module information such as manufacturer name, manufacturer model, serial number, connector type, wavelength, transmission distance, production date, etc; Different host manufacturers may have different specific definitions of this information, which means that the code of different brand devices is usually different.
3. A2h Data Structure Description
A2h mainly contains functional data of some modules. Generally, during normal use, this data area is defined as a write protected mode to prevent data from being tampered , and affecting the normal use of the module. This data table will include some information such as module operating alarm thresholds, Digital Diagnostic Monitoring(DOM or DDM functions), some status control bytes, module calibration and debugging data, etc.
The digital diagnosis function defined in A2h can be very convenient for operation and maintenance personnel to check the status of links and device ports in daily device use, in order to determine whether the device is working properly. Currently, mainstream switches in the market support the recognition of DDM function, which can be displayed in real-time by inputting simple host commands. It can also manage the status of all node ports in the network through network management software, convenient and timely troubleshooting and maintenance network . As shown in Figure 2 :
