When the optical module is used on the switch, you need to know the interoperability between the optical module model and the corresponding switch model to avoid compatibility problems. At present, there are two main ways to check the compatibility relationship between optical modules and switches, one is to provide a compatibility list in the product manual, i.e., the manual of the switch lists the compatible optical module models, such as Aruba, or the manual of the optical module lists the compatible host models, such as Juniper; the other is to have an independent compatibility manual of the optical module, such as Brocade; and CISCO provides a tool to query the compatibility relationship between optical modules and switches, which is described next.
When you enter the Cisco Optical Device Compatibility Matrix web page (URL: https://tmgmatrix.cisco.com), the first thing you see is the disclaimer and notes; the right side is designed with rotating images to promote new products, programs, and blogs.

Enter the CISCO optical module model number in the search box, and the result will show all CISCO host devices that support the optical module, as well as the minimum software requirements; the left side is also designed with information filtering/filtering functions, which facilitates the quick screening of information.

Similarly, if you enter a CISCO host model in the search box, the results will show all supported optical module models for that host, as well as the minimum software requirements.
