Guidelines for Upgrading Huawei Router Software Version Using FTP

When optical modules are used in routers/routers and other devices, they may be restricted by the system software version of the device, i.e., different software versions may have different requirements for the compatibility of the optical modules, and by switching the system software version of the router, you can find or solve some of the module compatibility problems in order to improve the module's adaptability in the host.
The following shares the method of upgrading the Huawei switch/router system software version using FTP based on a specific case:

Note: Router system software download directory: https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/zh/software ;
1. Enable the FTP server, add a local FTP user account, configure its password and access service type, and configure the user level and access privileges;

Note: The highest user level of the target model is 3, other models can be configured according to the highest level.
2. Use the local account to log in to the FTP server client (this time using FTP software for Tripper FTP);

3. Select the local system file in the FTP server, right click and upload, the system file will be sent to the router flash memory;
Note: Before uploading files, pay attention to use the dir command to check whether the router flash/free memory is enough.

4. Check whether the system software is successfully uploaded to the router internal storage file, execute the command “dir ”;

5. Set the system file for the next startup, execute the command “startup system-software AR5700S_V600R023C10SPC100.cc ”;

6. View the startup items for the next router startup, execute the command “display startup ” ;

7. Use the command to reboot the router, execute the command “reboot fast ” ;
8. Upgrade is complete, view the router's current running system software version.
