Difference between multimode fiber OM3-150 and OM3-300

OM3 fiber is a laser-optimized multimode fiber with a core diameter of 50μm and an aqua-blue outer jacket, which can be used for Ethernet up to 100Gbps and is most commonly used in 10Gbps Ethernet. Compared with OM1 and OM2 fibers, OM3 has higher transmission rate and bandwidth, so it is also called optimized multimode fiber or 10Gbps multimode fiber.
There are two kinds of OM3 optical fiber on the market, namely OM3-150 and OM3-300, only OM3-300 optical fiber really meets the international standard, and OM3-150 optical fiber is between OM3 and OM2 before the product, the non-international standard product, also known as OM2+, the optical module manufacturers generally do not mark the transmission performance on the OM2+ or OM3-150 optical fiber, and it is recommended to be careful in choosing OM2+ or OM2+ optical fiber, and to be careful in choosing OM2+ or OM2+ optical fiber.
