Optical transceivers are widely applied in switches, network cards, routers and other communication devices. Checking transceiver parameters allows users to monitor real-time operating status and locate link faults rapidly.
We connect Moduletek SFP-10G-LR transceiver to Huawei S6700 switch, and demonstrate how to view transceiver details on Huawei switches.
Figure 1 Schematic of Transceiver Connected to Switch
1. Port Link Status & Transceiver Working Status
Run command:
display interface <interface-type> <interface-number>
It displays port rate, transceiver type, link status (UP indicates normal link) and traffic statistics for fault analysis.
Note: interface-type interface-number stands for port type and port ID. Run display interface brief to view all port types. If no parameters are input, the switch will show information of all ports.
2. Transceiver Identification & DDM Diagnostic Data
Run command:
display transceiver interface <interface-type> <interface-number> verbose
The result contains two parts:
1. Transceiver identity information: model, wavelength, transmission distance, SN, manufacturer data stored in module EEPROM.
2. Real-time DDM values and alarm thresholds. Check TX/RX power, temperature and bias current to confirm whether transceivers on both ends work properly.
Moduletek optical transceivers are highly compatible with Huawei full-series switches. Welcome to inquire and purchase.
