1. Classification of multimode 850nm series optical modules
      According to the type of optical module package to points: the mainstream of the current multi-mode 850nm product market is SFP (single receipt and single transmission mechanism) and QSFP (multi-receive and multi-transmitter multi-channel optical parallel transmission) two kinds of packages, the rest of the GBIC/X2/XENPAK has been applied very sparsely, and the XFP package is in the process of rapid substitution; SFP package of multi-mode products are currently the main demand for the market SFP package multimode products are mainly demanded by the market for SFP-GE-SX, SFP-10GB-SR and SFP28-25GB-SR; QSFP package multimode products market mainstream models are QSFP-40GB-SR4 and QSFP28-100GB-SR4;
      Classified from the module transmission rate, the current market of multimode optical module contains from 1G to 400G rate range, covering the proximity transmission of various application requirements;
      2. General rules for the selection of multimode fiber optic patch cords
      Multimode module transmission distance limitations are different from single-mode module transmission, single-mode will be limited mainly by the optical attenuation of the fiber optic link, multimode transmission under normal circumstances generally do not go to the calculation of the attenuation of its optical circuit, but its own mode characteristics and fiber optic mode bandwidth limitations limited to its transmission distance;
      Single-channel 1G multimode module 62.5/125um multimode fiber transmission distance up to 300m, in the 50/125um multimode fiber transmission distance up to 550m;
      For single-channel 10G multimode modules (commonly found in SFP-10GB-SR, QSFP-40GB-SR4, CFP2-100GB-SR10), the transmission distance will be further limited by the fiber type, and the corresponding transmission distances are illustrated as follows (refer to IEEE Std 802.3-2015):

      The single-channel 25G multimode module (SFP-25GB-SR, QSFP28-100GB-SR4 and QSFP-DD 200GB-SR8 and 400GB-SR16 are based on the single-channel 25G mode) has a transmission distance of 70m on OM3 multimode fiber, 100m on OM4 fiber, and will have a better transmission distance on OM5 fiber. In OM5 fiber will have better transmission performance;
      SFP and QSFP multimode modules also have different requirements for the form of fiber optic patch cord connector, SFP multimode module commonly used fiber optic patch cord connector for double LC connector, as shown in the figure below:

      QSFP multimode module is commonly used in parallel transmission of multiple optical signals of the same wavelength mode (SR4, SR8, SR16 on behalf of the number of parallel transmission channels), using the MPO/MTP multiplexed fiber array form (the number of cores according to the number of modules depending on the number of channels), as shown in the figure below:

      GBIC/X2/XENPAK these types of non-mainstream multimode module interface is a dual SC connector, as shown below:
